GeoGebra is a great free interactive tool that all teachers teaching math should at least know about. It's great for explorations and visualizations and allows to create interactive worksheets for students. My son used GeoGebra last year for his 7th grade science project. In the first portion of my presentation I will talk about his project and show how he used GeoGebra. Then I will present some features of the program. The last portion will be a hands-on workshop where the attendees will get a chance to use GeoGebra and ask questions.

Just to make sure, I'm not affiliated with the creatrors of GeoGebra. I'm just a simple user that really likes it.

With the incorporation of new technology into my classroom, Google has really helped me to be more organized and successful in my teaching and my organization.  I have utilized the Goole Apps for Education tools to help my classroom become more tech friendly for my students to use as a daily resource.  Drop it to Me is a tool I use to help me manage student work that is submitted to me electronically.  It is not connected to Canvas but it can be connected to Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive for free!  This class will discuss Drop it to Me, setting up an account, account management, and how to use it with your classes as well as tips and tricks to help you manage your own google site.  Please BYOD (Bring your own device) if possible.  I look forward to teaching you new things to help enhance your teaching and motivate your students!

Genius Hour
Project Based Learning: Using Genius Hour in the classroom for elementary and secondary.
Based off of Google's 20% theory this program is allowing students to study and research their interests is the basis of personalized learning. Genius hour is the method many teachers throughout the world are implementing personalized learning in the classroom. Genius Hour is giving students time each day/week to study the topic of their choice. Genius Hour/time has gained a lot of attention in the past few years. In this session we will discuss strategies to use PBL (project based learning) in the elementary setting.
